Fragility

About: One might say that this is a brief enquiry into the normal human psyche.
Why do we get hurt over words? And why do we break up only to miss each other?
And why do we make decisions like we do?

are we so fragile?
fragile as memories
fragile as emotions
breaking easily
but never uniting

fragile as one breaks a heart
with a few words
meaningless, yet meaningful
harmless, yet hurtful

are we so scared?
scared to be lonely,
and yet scared to be together
contradictory, evermore.

yet as it dawns
we think, we contemplate
about us, about life
about why
we will never amalgamate
as metals to metals,
and never merge,
as water to water.
